ALC Episode 1 - The Phantom Nuke!

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Invasion!  No… no… not really an invasion — yet.  We do, however, have the launch of After Life Comics!  Now you may be asking yourself why I am making a blog entry about the first episode when I could have just posted it with the comic.  And I answer you because I have the power!  Actually, I just wanted to introduce myself as most of the entries so far have been by Brandon.  My name is Nick, who you may recognize or probably don’t as the comic’s illustrator.  This is a really new thing for both Brandon and myself.  Though both of us have loved comics for as long as time is long we have never attempted to create anything of the sort until a few weeks ago.  What you’re reading in the first issue of ALC is actually my first ever completed comic strip.  So the reason I bring this up is because the art! I just want to give you guys (and girls) something to look forward to.  As of now the first 6 strips of the  comic have been completed and my art has really progressed a lot from the first episode.  Though its not by choice I don’t have access to a tablet so all of what you will see until further notice will have all been completed by hand (and mouse) in Photoshop, so it’s taken a lot of time to adjust to from just using paper, but I really feel you will enjoy what you come to see in the next few weeks.  So, with that, I urge you all to stay tuned and keep reading and helping us out by linking us to your friends and websites and giving any comments or feedback you may have.

How Apropos…

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

For those of you who feverishly refresh their browser awaiting Yahtzee’s latest review over at The Escapist each Wednesday, it may have come as a surprise that his departure this week was to a place quite fresh to this here venture I’ve happened upon with Nick — the world of the Webcomic. The loquacious, verbal-six-shooter-slinging Aussie with the lung capacity of a Manatee roasts the webcomic as an art form and spears it against the side of a cave wall as a reminder to all those even thinking about beginning one… how apropos…
